Preview: Holy Spirit Catholic Saints vs. Northside Rams
Holy Spirit Catholic and Northside are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2018, but not for long. The Holy Spirit Catholic Saints will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Northside Rams at 2:30 p.m. Holy Spirit Catholic will be strutting in after a win while Northside will be coming in after a defeat.
Holy Spirit Catholic put the finishing touches on their eighth blowout victory of the season on Tuesday. They blew past South Lamar, posting a 58-29 win on the road. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Holy Spirit Catholic has posted since November 21, 2023.
Northside suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They had to suffer through a rough 63-18 loss at the hands of Hale County. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northside has scored all season.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Northside struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Holy Spirit Catholic has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Northside, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 9-5.
Holy Spirit Catholic was able to grind out a solid win over Northside in their previous matchup back in January of 2022, winning 35-28. Does Holy Spirit Catholic have another victory up their sleeve, or will Northside turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
