Basketball Recap: Saturday's Victory Is Sotomayor's Ninth in Last 12 Outings

Sotomayor won the last time they faced Taft and things went their way on Saturday too. The Sotomayor WILDCATS secured a 50-46 W over the Taft Raiders. Given the WILDCATS's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while the Raiders are ranked 753rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sotomayor has also been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 17-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.3 points per game. As for Taft, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-23.

When Sotomayor and Taft next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. Sotomayor will challenge Warren and their four-game winning streak at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Sotomayor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55.3 points per game this season. Similarly, Taft will try to stop Harlan's three-game winning streak when the meet at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
