Volleyball Recap: Kimberly Freer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Palmer Trinity over Archbishop Mccarthy

Palmer Trinity lost against Archbishop McCarthy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Falcons fell just short of the Mavericks by a score of 3-2. While the Falcons didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Mavericks 25-18 in the first set.

Palmer Trinity took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 18-25, 25-17, 18-25, 27-25, 15-8.

Palmer Trinity lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Kimberly Freer, who had seven digs and four aces. The team also got some help courtesy of Alexandra Garner, who had eight digs.

Palmer Trinity's defeat dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 22-3 record this season.

Palmer Trinity has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 win against Somerset Academy South Homestead on the 14th. As for Archbishop McCarthy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against McArthur on the 15th.
