Basketball Game Preview: Hydaburg Warriors vs. Hoonah Braves

The Hydaburg Warriors will head out on the road to face off against the Hoonah Braves at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Hydaburg has struggled recently with 18 defeats in a row, while Hoonah will arrive with four straight wins.

Hydaburg is headed into the game out to prove that what happened against Klawock on Thursday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Hydaburg lost 43-23 to Klawock.

Meanwhile, Hoonah earned a 41-32 victory over Non Varsity Opponent back in January.

The win got Hoonah back to even at 4-4. As for Hydaburg, their loss dropped their record down to 0-6.

Hydaburg took a serious blow against Hoonah in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, falling 53-19. Can Hydaburg avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
