Baseball Recap: Rocky Mountain Triumphs

Rocky Mountain's game last Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mountain View Mavericks, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Grizzlies have posted against the Mavericks since April 13, 2023.

Reece Hudson tossed a big game, pitching five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits.

On the hitting side, Rocky Mountain's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cooper Frasure, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. Those three hits gave Frasure a new career-high.

Rocky Mountain's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mountain View, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Rocky Mountain will head out on the road to challenge Owyhee at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Storm will roll in looking for their 16th straight victory, something the Grizzlies surely won't give up without a fight. As for Mountain View, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Timberline at 6:30 p.m.
