Baseball Game Preview: Metro Tech Knights vs. North Mustangs

The Metro Tech Knights and the North Mustangs, after both having extra time off, will shake off the cobwebs and hit the field at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. North took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Metro Tech, who comes in off a win.

Metro Tech came out on top against Washington last Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Knights took their contest against the Rams 6-3.

Miguel Pacheco was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 13 batters over six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, one stolen base, and one run.

Pacheco wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Oscar Perez, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Metro Tech kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Washington only managed three.

Meanwhile, Friday just wasn't the day for North's offense. They lost 20-0 to Buckeye last Friday. The Mustangs have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

The victory got Metro Tech back to even at 1-1. As for North, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6.
