Baseball Recap: Chino Wins Going Away Against Montclair

Chino won the last time they faced Montclair and things went their way on Monday too. The Cowboys were the clear victors by a 7-1 margin over the Cavaliers. The result was nothing new for the Cowboys, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

Grant Kuhns Vasquez and Caleb Carrillo did most of the damage at the plate: Kuhns Vasquez went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI, while Carrillo got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Those three RBI gave Kuhns Vasquez a new career-high. Xiovany Ochoa was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three runs.

Chino's win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Montclair, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost 12 of their last 14 matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.

Chino will have a chance to go back-to-back against Montclair: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
