Volleyball Recap: Plainfield Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Plainfield was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Lyme Vikings. If the Panthers were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Vikings when the teams met back in September of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

The final score came out to 25-13, 25-11, 21-25.

Despite the loss, Plainfield still got an impressive performance from Shae Valentin, who had 15 digs. Valentin has been hot for a while, having posted 15 or more digs the last ten times she's played.

Plainfield now has a losing record of 7-8. As for East Lyme, the win (which was their 15th in a row) raised their record to 15-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Plainfield will challenge Woodstock Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for East Lyme, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Bacon Academy at 5:30 p.m.
