Metuchen was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against J.P. Stevens on Saturday. The Bulldogs blew past the Hawks 15-2. Considering the Bulldogs have won seven matches by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Lucas Malamug made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

In other batting news, Metuchen got a big performance out of Joseph Tamburello, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sean Dereka, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and two runs.

Metuchen is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.8 runs over those games. As for J.P. Stevens, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-10.

Metuchen has already played their next contest (against North Brunswick), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for J.P. Stevens, they have also already played their next matchup, a 10-0 loss against Edison on the 3rd.
