Football Recap: Tucson High Magnet School Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Tucson High Magnet School lost against Salpointe Catholic back in September of 2019, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Badgers took a 30-17 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lancers. While losing is never fun, the Badgers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked 84th, while the Lancers are ranked 16th).

Despite the loss, Tucson High Magnet School still got an impressive performance from Malaki Hiadzi Cunningham, who picked up 89 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. Derek Mesa was another key player, having thrown for 300 yards and two touchdowns.

Chris Chaney had an outrageously good game for Salpointe Catholic as he rushed for 164 yards and one score on only 12 carries.

Tucson High Magnet School's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Salpointe Catholic, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Tucson High Magnet School has already played their next matchup, a 27-16 victory against Walden Grove on the 12th. As for Salpointe Catholic, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 34-31 win against Saguaro on the 12th.
