Baseball Game Preview: Oldham County Colonels vs. Male Bulldogs

The Oldham County Colonels will take on the Male Bulldogs at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Wednesday, Oldham County beat Fern Creek 7-2.

Hayden Kiesewetter tossed a big game, striking out six batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.

At the plate, Oldham County's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Martin, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one run. Another was Logan Slechter, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one double.

Meanwhile, Male posted their closest victory since April 10th on Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out Pleasure Ridge Park 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

Miles Flack looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Male is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 11-12 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Cole Woodward was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and one RBI.

Male now has a winning record of 14-13. As for Oldham County, their win ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-13-1.
