Preview: Shikellamy Braves vs. Southern Columbia Area Tigers
The Shikellamy Braves will head out on the road to face off against the Southern Columbia Area Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Shikellamy will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 409th, while Southern Columbia Area is ranked 49th).
Last Friday, Shikellamy took a serious blow against Mount Carmel, falling 69-13. Shikellamy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 55-0.
Although Shikellamy took the loss, they still got scores from Keatin Lattimore and Asher Moyer.
Meanwhile, Southern Columbia Area can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent game on Friday. They breezed by Wyoming Area on the road to the tune of 34-7. Southern Columbia Area pushed the score to 28-7 by the end of the third, a deficit Wyoming Area had little chance of recovering from.
Among those leading the charge was Louden Murphy, who rushed for 49 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 57 receiving yards.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Mount Carmel's victory pushed their record up to 7-2, while Shikellamy's loss dropped theirs down to 2-7.
Shikellamy was dealt a bruising 42-14 defeat at the hands of Southern Columbia Area when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Thankfully for Shikellamy, Braeden Wisloski (who rushed for 124 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
