Baseball Game Preview: Gregory-Portland Wildcats vs. Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots

The Gregory-Portland Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Mission Veterans Memorial Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Gregory-Portland and Ray, and Ray kept the tradition alive. The Wildcats fell 7-3 to the Texans on Monday.

Brayden Flores made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Mission Veterans Memorial's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of San Benito.

Mission Veterans Memorial saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jeremiah Vela, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Mission Veterans Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 18-6. As for Gregory-Portland, they dropped their record down to 17-15 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
