Basketball Recap: High Point Central Takes a Loss

High Point Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 36th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 56-10 loss at the hands of the Rockingham County Cougars. While losing is never fun, the Bison can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 552nd, while the Cougars are ranked 144th).

High Point Central's defeat dropped their record down to 0-12. As for Rockingham County, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 13-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. High Point Central won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Ben L. Smith at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockingham County, they will also get right back to it: they'll challenge Dudley at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Rockingham County knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past six matches -- so hopefully Dudley likes a good challenge.
