Football Recap: South Lakes Comes Up Short + How To Watch

South Lakes dropped to 5-5 on Friday, ending the team's four-game streak of wins at home. They took a blow against the Westfield Bulldogs, falling 40-13. Having soared to a lofty 35 points in the game before, the Seahawks couldn't push the score so high this time.

Several Seahawks players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Christian Wyatt, who threw for 158 yards and two TDs, and also rushed for 52 yards on only seven carries. Another receiver making a difference was George Zarechnak, who picked up 98 receiving yards and one touchdown.

As for Westfield, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-3. A key ingredient in that success has been their performance when it comes to yards per carry: they averaged an imposing 5.9 yards per carry in those games compared to only 3.44 in the others.

Westfield's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ryan Carlson led the charge by throwing for 180 yards and a pair of TDs, while also punching in one score on the ground. What's more, Carlson racked up 114.6 passer rating, the most he's had since back in September. Westfield's leading receiver Malachi Lee was Carlson's top target yet again, picking up 106 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

South Lakes and Westfield are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Seahawks will face off against Yorktown at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. South Lakes will need to watch out since the Patriots have now posted at least 31 points in their last three contests. As for Westfield, they will square off against Washington-Liberty at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
