Whitman entered their tilt with Wootton on Saturday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Patriots. That's more bragging rights for the Vikings, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Marcus Dober looked comfortable as he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Puck Gardiner, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Sammy Angel, who scored a run while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Whitman lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Whitman's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Wootton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.

Looking ahead, Whitman will challenge Churchill on Monday. As for Wootton, they will square off against Poolesville on Tuesday.
