Basketball Recap: Jahlil Peoples-Mcclain's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Kolbe-Cathedral over New Fairfield

Kolbe-Cathedral was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They fell 52-45 to the New Fairfield Rebels. The contest was a 27-27 toss-up at halftime, but the Cougars couldn't quite close it out.

Kolbe-Cathedral lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jahlil Peoples-McClain, who posted 18 points. What's more, he also posted two steals, the most he's had since back in January. Another player making a difference was Lucas Pivovar, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Kolbe-Cathedral's loss dropped their record down to 11-10. As for New Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 10-5.

Kolbe-Cathedral does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for New Fairfield, they are taking a road trip to square off against Notre Dame Prep at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Notre Dame Prep's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 20 games.
