Basketball Recap: Finneytown Comes Up Short

While it was all tied up 22-22 at halftime, Finneytown was not quite Heath's equal in the second half on Saturday. Their2024 ended with a 51-35 loss against the Heath Bulldogs. The contest marked the Wildcats' lowest-scoring match so far this season.

Heath's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jaxon Duston led the charge by putting up 11 points in addition to eight assists and seven boards. Duston has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jordan Kaminsky, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 13 points and three steals.

Finneytown is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4. As for Heath, they pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.

Finneytown will face off against Indian Hill at 7:30 p.m. on January 4, 2025. As for Heath, they will take on West Muskingum at 6:00 p.m. on January 4, 2025.
