Recap: Bloomington North Cougars vs. Edgewood Mustangs
If the Bloomington North Cougars were riding high off their 79-52 takedown of the Columbus East Olympians last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Bloomington North fell just short of Edgewood by a score of 55-52. Bloomington North was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Edgewood apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2023.
Bloomington North's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Lindeman, who scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Lindeman is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jalen Williams, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals.
Mialin White was his usual excellent self, almost dropping a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds for Edgewood. White is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 16 or more in the last three games he's played. Carson Huttenlocker was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with three steals.
Bloomington North's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Edgewood, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-10.
Bloomington North will head out on the road to take on Terre Haute North Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Terre Haute North Vigo will roll in looking for their 13th straight win, something Bloomington North surely won't give up without a fight. As for Edgewood, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Orleans at 6:00 p.m. Orleans will roll in looking for their 12th straight win, something Edgewood surely won't give up without a fight.
