Softball Recap: Lincoln's Luck Changes for the Better on Thursday

Lincoln came into Thursday's game having lost ten straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with an 11-7 victory over the Taylor County Bulldogs on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Trojans considering their one-run performance the match before.

The team relied heavily on Lanie Woodson, who scored three runs and stole Two bases. while going 3-for-5. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Alli Ryan, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Lincoln's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-8. As for Taylor County, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their third straight at home.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lincoln will take on St. John Paul II at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. John Paul II is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season. As for Taylor County, they will face off against Chiles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chiles' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Taylor County's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
