Durham Flight HomeSchool was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost to the Thales Academy Rolesville Knights on the road by a 44-27 margin. One positive for the Flight, at least, is that this was the most points they've scored all season.

Thales Academy Rolesville's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Mary Niebauer led the charge by going 8 for 16 on her way to 22 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Julia Van Valkenburg, who went 6 of 15 on her way to 13 points and four steals.

Durham Flight HomeSchool's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-5 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Durham Flight HomeSchool will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chatham HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on January 16th. As for Thales Academy Rolesville, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Halifax Academy at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
