Football Game Preview: Chisholm Longhorns vs. Perry Maroons

The Chisholm Longhorns will head out on the road to take on the Perry Maroons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Chisholm will bounce into Friday's matchup after beating Millwood, who they had gone 0-3 against in their three prior meetings. The Longhorns took down the Falcons 42-25 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Perry blew past Crooked Oak, posting a 35-8 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Maroons' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Chisholm better keep an eye on Andrew Kukuk. He was instrumental in Perry's win, rushing for 164 yards and four TDs on only 13 carries. They are 2-1 when Kukuk posts two or more rushing touchdowns, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Miner, who rushed for 101 yards on only eight carries.

Perry was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 297 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've managed all season.

The victory got Chisholm back to even at 4-4. As for Perry, their win bumped their record up to 2-6.

Chisholm strolled past Perry in their previous meeting back in November of 2024 by a score of 28-14. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Longhorns since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
