League recap: Kowalski races to league-leading run for Penns Manor

Lucas Kowalski of Penns Manor ran for the longest rushing play in Heritage this season against Northern Cambria last week. Kowalski's team bested the Colts as he sprinted for 62 yards on the play and finished with 158 in all.

Ligonier Valley was the team made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from seventh to second in the league. Earlier in the week, the Rams triumphed over Purchase Line 35-0.

Ligonier Valley's dynamic duo of Scott Fennell and Alec Bloom proved tough for the Red Dragons to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Fennell threw for 105 yards and Bloom had 68 yards receiving. Garrett Tobias helped Ligonier Valley's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 20 yards.

Roger Beitel's team's dynamic duo of Fennell and Bloom proved to be unstoppable against Purchase Line, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Deion Robinson was the best running back in the league this week. He ran for 192 yards on 30 carries as Blairsville beat Brandon Overdorff's team. Teammate Scott Thompson added to the ground attack by rushing for 35 yards.

Fennell put up the best numbers in passing as Ligonier Valley beat the Red Dragons.

Robinson was a passing and rushing force as the Bobcats bested Marion Center. Robinson's favorite target this week was Robinson, who caught 4 passes for 43 yards.

Bloom was the best receiver in Heritage this week as the Rams topped Purchase Line.

On the heels of Thompson and Robinson, Blairsville has had great success on offense. Thompson is tops in the league in passing with 110 yards, while Robinson has rushed for 192 yards this season. Ligonier Valley's Bloom leads the league in receiving yards with 68 on 4 catches.

An important game coming up this the league this week will be when United takes on the Rams. The Lions are currently in fifth, while Ligonier Valley is in second.

Homer-Center moved up to 329 from 366 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Wildcats climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Saltsburg 48-6.
