There's no place like home for Santa Paula, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Nordhoff Rangers on Tuesday. Considering the Cardinals have won eight games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Ayla Rodriguez tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off nine hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Ali Espinosa was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Those four hits gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Carmen Chavez, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple.

Santa Paula kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 6-2 when they post 11 or more hits.

Santa Paula's record now sits at 8-10. As for Nordhoff, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last seven contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season.

Santa Paula wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Royal on the 30th. As for Nordhoff, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-4 win against Channel Islands on the 1st.
