Recap: Arcadia Apaches vs. South Pasadena Tigers

The Arcadia Apaches entered their tilt with the South Pasadena Tigers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Arcadia managed a 65-61 victory over South Pasadena on Saturday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Arcadia had a senior duo take command as Jordan Dollar scored 16 points along with two steals and Mansour Senneh scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Noa Eteuati-Edwards, who scored nine points.

South Pasadena's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Derek Peterson, who scored 29 points. Peterson has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Jack Madison was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals.

Arcadia is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season. As for South Pasadena, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Arcadia and Glendale will face off at 5:15 p.m. on January 23rd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Glendale will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Arcadia is ranked 159th). As for South Pasadena, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against La Canada at 7:00 p.m. One thing working in La Canada's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last nine matches.
