Football Recap: Pike County Starts off Right with Win over Crawford County

Pike County gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 36-20 win over the Crawford County Eagles. The Pirates have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Eagles, too.

Pike County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brayden O'Connell, who threw for 240 yards and five touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Tucker Saporita, who picked up 81 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Pike County's run defense was locked in: Crawford County could only muster 1.2 yards per carry. The team can thank Maddox Storm for the heroic effort on defense: he. Pike County's ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.5.
