Baseball Game Preview: Perkins-Tryon Demons vs. Mannford Pirates

For the second straight game, Perkins-Tryon will face off against Mannford. Perkins-Tryon will take on Mannford at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Perkins-Tryon has three straight wins, Mannford has five straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

While Perkins-Tryon's victory against Mannford wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Perkins-Tryon never let Mannford get on the board and left with a 2-0 win on Monday. The game snapped a strange streak: the last three times these teams have met, it?s been the away team that?s taken home the W.

Ethan Anderson made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 12 over seven innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in hits (three). He was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

Anderson wasn't the only one making solid contact as four players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was James Garner, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Mannford's defeat dropped their record down to 4-11. As for Perkins-Tryon, their victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-6 and their overall record up to 3-9.
