Softball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty lost against North Marion back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Mountaineers lost 25-10 to the Huskies. Mountaineers fans who chose to attend the game sure picked the wrong one: it was the first time the team's lost against the Huskies since on Wednesday.

This is the second loss in a row for Liberty and nudges their season record down to 1-3. As for North Marion, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Liberty will head out to face off against Robert C. Byrd at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Mountaineers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a nine-game losing streak. As for North Marion, they will head out on the road to square off against Preston at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Knights have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.83 runs per game on average), something the Huskies will no doubt try to take advantage of.
