Baseball Recap: Lakeview Find Success

While Lakeview's victory against Climax-Scotts wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Spartans had just enough and edged out the Panthers 3-2 on Saturday. The Spartans haven't had any issues with the Panthers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Aeson Hawks spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on two hits and racked up eight Ks. He has become a key player for Lakeview: the team is 2-1 when he allows at most two earned runs, but 6-10 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Lakeview saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Sam McCullough, who went 1-for-3 with one triple and one RBI. That triple was McCullough's first of the season.

Lakeview's record is now 8-11. As for Climax-Scotts, the defeat snapped their winning streak at seven games and leaves them with a 10-3 record.

Coming up, Lakeview will welcome Grand Ledge at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Climax-Scotts, they will venture away from home to square off against Mendon at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
