Basketball Recap: Taft Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

Taft won the last time they faced Banquete, and Krista Amaya did her part to make sure it happened again. The Taft Greyhounds snuck past the Banquete Bulldogs with a 45-39 win on Friday thanks in part to Amaya, who posted 20 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. That makes it 11 consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Taft's points.

Taft is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-12 record this season. As for Banquete, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-14.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Taft will face off against Odem at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Taft is facing Odem at the right time seeing as Odem is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. As for Banquete, they will challenge Orange Grove at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
