Recap: South Charlotte T Thunder vs. Forsyth Home Educators Hawks
The South Charlotte T Thunder had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 18.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. They breezed by Forsyth Home Educators at home to the tune of 71-40. With South Charlotte T ahead 35-13 at the half, the match was all but over already.
South Charlotte T's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Luke Rullo led the charge by scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Rullo has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last seven times he's played. Aaron Hill was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with eight assists and two steals.
Despite the loss, Forsyth Home Educators saw an underclassman step up: Baylin Clodfelter scored 11 points along with four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nolan Holley, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
South Charlotte T now has a winning record of 9-8. As for Forsyth Home Educators, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
South Charlotte T won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Surry HomeSchool at 6:30 p.m. on January 13th. Surry HomeSchool knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully South Charlotte T likes a good challenge. As for Forsyth Home Educators, they will be playing at home against Greater Vision Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Greater Vision Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Monday.
