Softball Game Preview: Tell City Marksmen vs. Wood Memorial Trojans

The Tell City Marksmen will face off against the Wood Memorial Trojans at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither Tell City nor Wood Memorial posted many runs in their last games, so it might be the pitching crews that decide this one.

Monday just wasn't the day for Tell City's offense. They lost 7-0 to Perry Central on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Marksmen have lost by exactly seven runs.

Meanwhile, Wood Memorial also failed to score in their most recent game. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Heritage Hills on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Wood Memorial dropped their record down to 1-3 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Tell City, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Tell City took their victory against Wood Memorial in their previous matchup back in April of 2023 by a conclusive 13-1 score. Will the Marksmen repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
