Volleyball Recap: Sanford Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Sanford unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the Gorham Rams on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it seven in a row.

Sanford was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the third set very close. The final score came out to 25-15, 25-10, 25-22.

The victory got Gorham back to even at 1-1.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Sanford is set to square off against their familiar foe Massabesic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Gorham will take on rival Windham at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
