 Newman Central Catholic lost to Princeton  last Monday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Newman Central Catholic Comets came out on top in a nail-biter against the Princeton Tigers  and snuck past  10-9. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for Newman Central Catholic.
  Brenleigh Cook was  incredible,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run, three  RBI,  and a  double. The team also got some help courtesy of  Madison Duhon, who  scored two  runs and  stole a base while going 3-for-3.
 On Princeton's side,  Sam Woolley was cooking despite her team's loss,   going 2-for-3 with a  home run and two  RBI.  Izzy Gibson was another key contributor,  going 2-for-4 with a  home run.
 Newman Central Catholic is  on a roll lately: they've  won six of their last seven games,  which provided a nice bump to their 10-8 record  this season. As for Princeton,  this is  the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 13-7.
 Newman Central Catholic will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Morrison at 4:30  p.m. Morrison is coming into the  matchup with six straight  wins on the road,  so Newman Central Catholic will have to stop a  team with plenty of momentum. As for Princeton, they will  take on Orion at 4:30  p.m.  on Friday. Orion is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.4  runs per game  this season.
