Basketball Recap: 13 Straight Home Wins for St. Mary's

St. Mary extended their home winning streak to 13 games dating back to last season thanks to a huge performance from Pyper Ickes. The St. Mary's Cardinals came out on top against the Bloomfield Bees by a score of 50-41 on Tuesday thanks in part to Ickes, who posted 18 points along with eight rebounds and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last four games she's played.

Several Bees players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Madyson Mlady, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Kora Poppe, who put up 11 points.

St. Mary's record now sits at 10-1. As for Bloomfield, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5.

A feisty cat fight will be fought when the St. Mary's Cardinals take on the Summerland [Clearwater/Ewing/Orchard] Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. St. Mary's is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.7 points per game this season. As for Bloomfield, they will venture away from home to take on Plainview at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
