Thursday just wasn't the day for Maywood Academy's offense. They took an 8-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Sotomayor Wolves on Thursday. The Nighthawks' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Maywood Academy's defeat was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 4-1 and their overall record down to 4-4. As for Sotomayor, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season.

Coincidentally, Maywood Academy and Sotomayor will both be playing Torres the next time they take the field. The Nighthawks will head out to face the Toros at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Wolves will play them later in the day, at 4:30 p.m.
