Baseball Recap: Charlotte Country Day School Takes a Loss

Charlotte Country Day School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-5 heartbreaker at the hands of the Christ the King Crusaders.

James Lowe made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Mac Summerville, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2.

Charlotte Country Day School's loss dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Christ the King, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-6 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Charlotte Country Day School will head out to face off against Myers Park at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitching crew has only allowed 3.2 runs per game this season, so the Buccaneers' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Christ the King, they are taking a road trip to square off against Corvian Community at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
