Preview: Granby Memorial Bears vs. Coventry Patriots
Granby Memorial has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Coventry Patriots at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. Granby Memorial will be strutting in after a victory while Coventry will be coming in after a defeat.
On Wednesday, Granby Memorial was able to grind out a solid victory over Windsor Locks, taking the game 41-30.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Coventry, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 52-36 loss to Canton on Friday. Coventry has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Granby Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Coventry, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Everything came up roses for Granby Memorial against Coventry in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 67-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Granby Memorial since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
