Basketball Game Preview: Highland Huskies vs. Liberty Common Eagles

Highland has gone a perfect 10-0 against Liberty Common recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Saturday. The Highland Huskies will take on the Liberty Common Eagles at 10:30 a.m. Highland knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Liberty Common likes a good challenge.

Last Wednesday, Highland came up short against Sterling and fell 62-55.

Despite the loss, Highland got top-tier performance from Brogan Palmer, who dropped a double-double with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Palmer is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 54% in the last three games he's played. D'Andre DeHoyos was another key player, putting up ten points.

Even though they lost, Highland smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 14 offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Liberty Common ended up a good deal behind Yuma on Wednesday and lost 70-52. The Eagles have struggled against the Outlaws recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Highland will need to focus on slowing down Pierce Richardson, one of several Liberty Common players who made an impact when they last played. He shot 42% from the field en route to 14 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Grayson Clay, who went 5-for-11 to rack up 17 points.

Highland's record now sits at 16-6. As for Liberty Common, their record now sits at 12-10.

Highland beat Liberty Common 53-44 in their previous matchup back in January. Will Highland repeat their success, or does Liberty Common have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
