Basketball Recap: Charlotte Christian Falls Despite Big Games from Gabby Eboboko and Piper Fair

Charlotte Christian was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 45-25 to the Ravenscroft Ravens. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 522nd, while the Ravens are ranked 233rd).

Charlotte Christian's loss came despite strong showings from Piper Fair and Gabby Eboboko. Fair posted six points and five rebounds, while Eboboko had eight points.

Ravenscroft was led to victory by Ellie Cronin and Emily Virag. Cronin dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 boards, while Virag went 6 of 15 on her way to 14 points and four steals. That's the most boards Cronin has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Courtney Carter, who put up ten points.

Charlotte Christian's loss dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Ravenscroft, they moved to 6-10 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

Charlotte Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 53-14 defeat against Durham Academy on the 4th. As for Ravenscroft, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 70-34 loss against Charlotte Country Day School on the 4th.
