Basketball Recap: Breanna Ford Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Marion

Mullins hadn't done well against Marion recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. The Mullins Auctioneers walked away with a 45-35 win over the Marion Swamp Foxes. This was a revenge game for the Auctioneers: when they faced off against the Swamp Foxes back in December of 2024, they had to take a 50-32 loss.

Mullins' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Breanna Ford, who went 7 for 8 to rack up 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Na'Riyah Woodberry, who posted 13 points and six steals.

Marion lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Jaeda Davis, who earned 12 points. That was a full 34.3% of Marion's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's scored more than a third of the team's points. Maliyah Williams was another key player, putting up ten points.

The victory got Mullins back to even at 7-7. As for Marion, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-8.
