Basketball Recap: Park View Comes Up Short

Park View played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt an 81-50 defeat at the hands of the Heritage Pride. While losing is never fun, the Patriots can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 347th, while the Pride are ranked 61st).

Heritage's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Tyler Burns led the charge by going 11 of 15 on his way to 22 points in addition to six boards and four steals. Burns continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dylan Williams, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 assists.

Park View has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season. As for Heritage, their record now sits at 12-4.

Park View won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Trinity at Meadow View at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Park View is facing Trinity at Meadow View at the right time seeing as Trinity at Meadow View is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heritage, they will challenge John Champe at 7:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
