Football Recap: Make It 11 in a Row for Owensboro + How To Watch

Owensboro had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past the Fairdale Bulldogs 41-7 on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Red Devils, who have now won ten games by 28 points or more so far this season.

Evan Hampton had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 126 yards and two scores on only seven carries.

They were just one part of a punishing run game: Owensboro was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 353 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since the start of last season.

When it comes to explaining why Fairdale lost, don't look at Dy'Metrius Taylor. Despite the final result, he rushed for 94 yards and one touchdown.

The victory (which was Owensboro's 11th in a row) raised their record to 11-2. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 8.5 points on average over those games. As for Fairdale, with the defeat, they broke their seven-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-5.

Looking ahead, Owensboro will challenge Atherton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Red Devils 12.8, the Ravens 4.9) so any points scored will be well earned. Fairdale does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
