Recap: Kaufman Lions vs. Community Braves
The Kaufman Lions entered their tilt with the Community Braves with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Kaufman came out on top against Community by a score of 50-40 on Friday. Given Kaufman's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 370th, while Community is ranked 1075th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kaufman found their leader in underclassman Kaylee Wrenn, who scored 19 points along with six steals. Wrenn has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Ka'liyah Arps was another key contributor, scoring 16 points.
Kaufman pushed their record up to 18-11 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. As for Community, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-19.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Wills Point the next time they take the court. Kaufman will head out to face Wills Point at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday, while Community will host them at 6:15 p.m. on Friday.
