Baseball Game Preview: Ramapo Raiders vs. Pascack Hills Broncos

The Ramapo Raiders will challenge the Pascack Hills Broncos at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. Ramapo will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak.

On Tuesday, Ramapo got the win against Paramus by a conclusive 8-2. The Raiders might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven games by six runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Pascack Hills was not the first on the board on Wednesday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 7-2 victory over Mahwah. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Broncos.

Anthony Blackford was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out 13 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits (and only one walk). Those 13 strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one double. He has become a key player for Pascack Hills: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-8 otherwise.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kyle Wenckus, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Marques, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Pascack Hills kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mahwah only managed five hits.

Ramapo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Pascack Hills, their win bumped their record up to 7-8.

Ramapo skirted past Pascack Hills 8-7 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Broncos turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
