Basketball Recap: Tomball Piles Up the Points Against Magnolia

Tomball won the last time they faced Magnolia and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Tomball Cougars took their contest with ease, bagging a 55-25 victory over the Magnolia Bulldogs. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 125th, while the Bulldogs are ranked 874th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tomball's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Danielle Oyakhire led the charge by as she made all 5 shots she took for 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Maddie Caldwell, who posted ten points.

Tomball's win bumped their record up to 21-8. As for Magnolia, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 4-19.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Tomball will host Klein Cain at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Magnolia, they will look to defend their home court on February 4th against Klein at 6:30 p.m.
