Baseball Recap: Waterloo West Takes a Loss

Waterloo West was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 7-6 heartbreaker at the hands of the Hempstead Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-1 on Friday.

Waterloo West's loss dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Hempstead, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5.

Coming up, Waterloo West is taking a road trip to square off against Dubuque Senior at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Hempstead, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-10 defeat against Assumption on the 14th.
