Softball Recap: Rio Vista Beats Hico for Their Third Straight Win

Rio Vista made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Hico, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went the Rio Vista Eagles' way against the Hico Tigers on Wednesday as the Rio Vista Eagles made off with a 15-3 victory. Considering the Eagles have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Ayden Greenslade, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kalli West, who went 1-for-3 with four RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.

The win was the third in a row for Rio Vista, bringing their record for this year to 7-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.7 runs over those games. As for Hico, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.

Coincidentally, Rio Vista and Hico will both be playing Meridian the next time they take the field. Hico will head out to face Meridian at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Rio Vista will head out to face them at 5:30 p.m. on March 28th.
