Soccer Game Preview: Mount Miguel vs. Grossmont

Mount Miguel hasn't had much luck against Grossmont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Matadors will host the Foothillers at 7:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Mount Miguel comes in on three and Grossmont on ten.

If Mount Miguel beats Grossmont with two goals on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. The Matadors won by a goal and slipped past El Cajon Valley 2-1. That's two games straight that Mount Miguel have won by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Grossmont kept a clean sheet against Valhalla on Tuesday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Norsemen. The final result isn't all that surprising considering Grossmont's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 73rd, while Valhalla are ranked 866th).

Grossmont's win bumped their record up to 16-1-1. As for Mount Miguel, their victory bumped their record up to 9-10-2.
