It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Clovis North can now relate to. They took a 32-14 bruising from the Buchanan Bears on Thursday. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Bears this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 30-20 back in October.

Despite the loss, Clovis North saw an underclassman step up: sophomore J R Cruz rushed for 202 yards and two TDs while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. The Broncos are 6-2 when Cruz posts 100 or more rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.
Buchanan was led to victory by Gannon Sever and Tommy Devany. Sever rushed for 148 yards and a pair of scores on only 14 carries, while Devany threw for 287 yards and three touchdowns. 103 of those passing yards were hauled in by Hudson Menzes, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.
